Hey Hammy, find yourself a geo-physicist and ask him/her.

The Earths magnetic field is flipping and has been for three hundred years now.
This occurs every 60,000 years or so, and you folk on the arctic circle *will*
be back to using candles *when* it occurs, and *We* won't have to listen to
*you* on the internet anymore.

That's what makes it so interesting.
