Note to the Princess-- warning: this post has colloidal silver in it. I
already wrote it and I am sending it. And it does pertain to Lyme disease
but you don't have to read it. :)

Well, if you could inject your groundhog with CS and then tell us how long
it took for it to start stinking compared with a dead groundhog that had no
cs injected, that'd be interesting! LOL

I'd like to add one more post to this discussion about CS while it's still
hot. Sorry; I can not be responsible for any number of replies to this it
may generate. My intention is not to enlarge the thread but to offer another
perspective besides the many posted by the same people. The 3 or so frequent
posters on this subject are not the only ones with an interest in the
subject.

When I was still sick with LD and candida in late 1996, I began
investigating the idea of self-medicating with CS. My MD told me about how
other patients of his were reporting how they were breaking new ground with
their Lyme symptoms. My doc had nothing to do with this; he was just passing
along information to me, knowing I was tired of being on abx and plateaued
in healing.

>From there I researched diligently for several weeks, not wanting to jump
into something without knowing as much about pros and cons as possible. I
decided to give it a try, desperate to get rid of my lingering symptoms and
to get off of antibiotics.

One article intended to debunk the myths about CS did not address colloidal
silver directly. It presented many negative findings about industrial
over-exposure, silver proteins (CSP, MSP) and silver salts (i.e., silver
nitrate.) All these products are of much greater particle size and
concentration than the typical homemade CS.

This article also pointed out "referred dose" which is an acceptable amount
of silver in the normal diet (from milk, mushrooms, oatmeal, wheat, etc.)
These amounts are similar to what many people ingest for daily prevention. I
highly recommend this article (in full; the abstract is nearly useless and
more misleading;): Fung, MC, Bowen, DL "Silver Products for Medical
Indications: Risk-Benefit Assessment CLINICAL TOXICOLOGY, 34(1), 119-126
(1996) .

To make a long story short, CS took over where the abx stopped. Just weeks
after I began using it, I got back forgotten energy and creativity.
Christmas came and my relatives who hadn't seen me for a while told me,
"Whatever you're doing Nance, keep it up!" They remember me dragging around
and disappearing to take naps and go to bed early...

However, I had been making my CS with a few grains of salt and using it for
a few months as instructed. That summer my skin tanned bronzed rather than
normal light tan. Once I learned that I was creating silver salts, I
discontinued adding the few grains of salt to the process. I also cut down
on use since I was asymptomatic most of the time except for some apparent
residual arthritis activated by damp cold air and sometimes air
conditioning.

By next summer, the bronzed tan was gone-- forever, even though I still used
CS (without salt) fairly regularly for colds, infections, and prevention.
Brain fog, persistent headaches, aching feet & hands, bone aches, tinnitus,
cessation of need for daily or even just weekly naps, cessation of fatigue
and need for naps or more than 8 hours sleep daily, and word confusion are
just a few of the things that went away when I took CS.

ARGYRIA
I corresponded with someone who turned blue from taking a glassful of CS at
a time that she made with salt. Upon last correspondence, she said her
discoloration had improved somewhat. She will never take any kind of CS
anymore. I don't blame her.

I also learned that Stan Jones (the blue senator) made his CS with tap water
and consumed it by the glassful. This method forms silver salts as well.
Quality CS is only made with steam-distilled water and no additives other
than pure silver wire (at least .99; .999 is even better.)

"The blue lady," Rosemary Jacobs, will not admit that she did not take
colloidal silver when the prescription medication available during her time
of use was silver nitrate, often as highly concentrated as 10%! She rejects
any product with silver in it. She admittedly has no scientific background
and is not qualified to say whether or not colloidal silver is safe or
effective.

I have no regrets making/taking colloidal silver. I learned a few things in
the process and am grateful I had no permanent bronzed tan. In my case, the
benefits outweighed the risks. My mother also chose to use CS to alleviate
bronchitis, sparing her of going on antibiotics as she had to many times in
the past. And my dad was nearly crippled with Lyme arthritis about 3 years
ago. CS restored him back to normal in a less than a month. I recently began
using it for a mild sinus infection and am finding it helping with other
symptoms (numbness, coldness in hands/feet, occasional blurred vision &
headaches, word choice difficulty) that have lingered from a new Lyme
infection that began this fall that did not completely resolve from
antibiotics.

Disclaimer: I do not sell colloidal silver or financially benefit by
discussing it. I recommend no one try it without consulting with a
healthcare provider and conducting an investigation of it (both pros and
cons), recognizing that there is misinformation on both sides. Anyone who
chooses to self-medicate with anything should assume responsibility for
himself.
