alcohol with doxycycline

After a particularly strong "herx" (?) that occurred after I slushed down
300 mg of doxy with half a litre of beer on an empty stomach, I got
intrigued. Perhaps ethyl alcohol facilitates the doxy to enter the BBB, or
the Bb cell wall, or it decreases MIC.

Anyway, I thought I was going to die and the next day I felt better than
ever before, so perhaps it was a "herx".

..says that alcohol + doxyxycline is used for its SCLEROTIC effect
(stiffening the palate of snorers) so perhaps I was just POISONED instead of
herxing. Anyway, is there anyone who has tried washing down a hefty dose of
doxy with a considerable amount of alcohol and noticed any effects?
