Hi all,
I've been on long term abx for Lyme several times in the last 5 years. Recently
my hands and legs went so numb I could hardly walk. I've been to the ER, had a
clear MRI and several doctors scratching their heads. I was so weak I couldn't
do anything. I was scared silly, I went downhill very fast with the symptoms
worsening terribly each day over a two week period. The other day the ID doc
said he would test me for B12 deficiency. I went home, looked up B12
deficiency on the web and found out it can cause peripheral neuropathy and
other severe neurological problems. I had stopped the abx a few weeks ago, and
yesterday I started taking several B complex pills a day. I have improved about
40% in 24 hours. Haven't gotten the B12 level bloodwork back yet, but am pretty
sure now this is the problem. Anyone ever experienced this on long term abx?
It's very scarey!!!
Donna
