I once had a boss who had a "machine gun" (an automatic assault rifle) in
her bedroom and one in the shoecloset behind her fron door. This after her
business partner's wife got tortured to death (some guys thought she had
money in the house, which unfortunately she didn't but they didn't believe
her so they pulled out her fingernails, gouged out her eyes and cut of her
ears, nose and that sort of thing.

The nastiest part of it was that when her husband came home, the door was
open and his 6-year old daughter saw her mother lying there, in a pool of
blood.

That was the association I got with "machine gun" :)
