I doubt they have "money left" since they rarely, in my time with them,
had income enough to cover expenses without Gary's help, IIRC. I found
your posts accusatory in tone, so I'm hoping I understand you correctly
when you say you're not accusing them of anything.
They aren't a national organization, Phyllis, they're tending their own
little patch of land, AFAIK. They aren't raising funds to "defend our
docs against persecution" as so many others have often claimed to be
doing.
On the one occasion the LA *did* ask all of us for help, however, they
made the result (the amicus brief) available to all of us at no cost,
while defending their local Lyme doctor.
AFAIK, they still have not accepted any funding nor sponsorships from
commercial interests, which pose an ethical dilemma for any non-profit
advocacy organization, which may find itself loathe to address important
questions in matters critical of said sponsor.
