This is not directly in response to your question to phyllis but to
point out that the system in the UK entitles every taxpaying resident
to free health care. But it seems that it's usually not applicable to
Lyme Disease, a disease they are vastly more ignorant about there than
in the US, where things are far from ideal also. So it's OK if you
are a heroin addict you will get free methadone on the UK's national
health service, or a liver transplant (ALL FREE) if you've drank
yourself stupid and killed your liver. But God forbid if you have
Lyme disease. It seems the systemic denial of LD could be enough to
drive someone to extreme measures. Maybe Mrs Jennings figures she's
got nothing to lose and it sure is now getting her some attention and
hopefully that will result in treatment for her.
