Now here's the thing. Either they can't do math (well I can't either
but I can COUNT) or they're totally delusional.
The task force as proposed is this:
********************************************************************
The task force consists of the following members:
Two physicians who are knowledgeable of, and whose practice includes
the treatment of, both early and late stage Lyme disease;
One physician or university immunology or research scientist with
acknowledged expertise in spirochetes and related infectious diseases
the secty of health and mental hygiene or the secty's designee
the State Epidemiologist
the secty of natural resources or secty's designee
the secty of agriculture or secty's designee
two representatives from lyme disease support groups in the state
one member of the natl capital lyme assn
one member of ilads
Secty of health and mental hygiene shall appoint members of the task
force and designate a chair
********************************************************************************
Now let's count. Yes there are 11 members. But where is it 5-5 with the
head of natural resources the swing vote?
I get 6-4 and would assume the head of natural resources to be on the
other side.
The two doctors described (who are to be appt by the secty of health)
will end up being Hopkins doctors. These folks THINK that only "llmds"
will qualify because they put in the lnaguage about treating early and
late Lyme? But any hopkins ID doc will claim to do that too.
And think about it. Who are they going to pick? Whose resumes are
impressive? Some family practitioner or gp who doesn't even have an
affiliation with his or her local hospital? Or some guy or gal with
impressive credentials who works at Hopkins?
So that is two for them.
Then the researcher will definitely be for them.
That's three for them.
Remember all the members are being picked by the secty of health who is
NOT on our side, and who certainly listens to the folks at Hopkins
before he or she listens to "tincup from the moon"
The next four are md govt secty's or their designees. Duh.
So that is seven for them.
Now the next listings are two from lyme support groups (are there even
two support groups in MD?) and one from the natl capital lyme assn
(which last I checked WAS a support group and by the way are the same
exact idiots who brought us the Nightline episode where dr burrascano's
approach of treating Lyme with antibiotics long term was compared not
exactly favorably to urine therapy which means drinking one's own urine
and digressed into a discussion of alt med) and one member of ilads.
So that sounds like a total of four for us (although with friends like
the natl capital lyme assn who needs enemies? )
And this person thinks that maybe the task force should go ahead and we
should complain later?
Since this person posts from Wisconsin I'm guessing that the Wisconsin
legislative effort is going to be a total disaster too. Worse, this
person can't even recognize disaster when he or she sees it so they'll
push ahead no matter what and probably adapt the Lyme "leader" motto"
All credit no blame declare failure victory and march on!
Oh yeah and that "Seat at the table" nonsense has been resurrected.
Yeah seat at the table, nose in the tent garbage means a whole lot.
Guess what? The condemned man has a seat at the table when he get's
executed. What an "accomplishment!"?
Again we have no one to blame for this stuff but ourselves.
