by personal anecdote... when i first became ill, or a couple of months
after initial flu-like onset (and more than a year before it was
diagnosed as lyme disease) an ENT put me on flagyl and i became
horridly sick. most likely a herx.

i had had 2 weeks of amoxy and then 2 weeks of avelox prior but
symptoms were persisting.

we then followed up the flagyl with two months of biaxin (it was
thought to be a sinus infection).

i was doing quite well at that time with the biaxin.

if i had continued abx treatment and not opted for sinus surgery (and
then went a year without any abx but increasing symptoms) i wonder if i
might have had a good chance of beating the buggers then?

allora...
