excellent point. weisman, you should have been on the NIH science
advisory board for this project.
however several people have told me that klempner and NIH officials
explained to them that a whole series of studies were planned, in
essence they were lied to in order to get patient support from LDA,
LDF, etc.
this is what they were told when they complained about the strange abx
regimen chosen, as well as study design.
however I would never bet my health on the result of a PCR test in
lyme. contrary to what steere says, a positive result is very good
evidence of continuing infection. a crime is being committed and Bb is
guilty. however, a negative result doesn't mean a whole lot.
one problem in lyme is that the tests most likely to reveal continuing
infection are difficult or expensive, since Bb sequesters in tissue,
require tissue biopsy.
