It's more like, Take the plank
out of your own eye, before I
you insist I take the speck out
of mine.

It's more like, you have done more
harm than good, and no amount of
your returning, scathing venom, will
erase your "errors" when it is your
time to account for how you spent
your life.

I believe you would be familiar with:

"Therefore guard against profitless grumbling,
and from calumny withhold your tongues;
For a stealthy utterance does not go unpunished,
and a lying mouth slays the soul."

Because that's from the old testament.
