Psychiatrists, lawyers, tax collectors.
Historically, human parasites. Like
maggots in a flesh wound. The most
neurotic, hateful, and paranoid class
of people on earth. Professional and
excellent liars. Sociopaths.
UNQUOTE
My grandfather Leon Isaksen did civil rights law in Wisconsin. He
wanted to help everyone. He was a good man.
My Uncle Joe worked at 101 California STreet, San Francisco. He was a
partner and had an office suite with an incredible view. He knew all
the lawyers who were killed there that day by someone who lumped
everyone together and no longer saw people.
I spent last weekend with my brother Sam, who became a lawyer after
writing his college thesis on the legalization of marijuana.
His dream was to become a Federal Judge and be lenient to pot smokers
everywhere.
Thank goodness he has stopped smoking pot- but he is now a dedicated
but burnt out public defender- wihch he beame because he wanted to
defend people who could not afford lawyers. I remember when his friend
Brady, who became one for the same reason, got stabbed by a defendant
who decided all lawyers were scum. Brady is a nice guy and had barely
said hello.
I also spent the weekend with my sister-in-law Kimberly who is a
hotshot at the public defenders office in LA. She became a public
defender because she wanted to defend the innocent and wrongly accused-
and she has been instrumental in PIOUS, the board which sorted out the
Rampart scandal. They are good people, too.
*sigh*
Lastly, I emailed another lawyer who is a family friend over this RICO
stuff. He was an MD for years and sought out retirement because he was
so angered at the way insurance companies and HMOs prevented him from
giving the best care he could to his patients. So at a rather advanced
age he became a lawyer so he could spend the rest of his life fighting
the good fight. Like us. Like you, Kathleen!
Please don't lump people into categories like that. There are plenty
of bad everythings in the world, including priests and nuns.
There are many good psychiatrists- like the one I saw for months after
being held up at gunpoint in a robbery- or the one I saw aftre my
father died- and plenty of good taxi drivers and lawyers and doctors
and whatever...
