I just hate to hear this. I have been putting out bird feeders and we
have several ponds in the neighborhood and I love to see these birds.
I watched a hawk this spring come out to our fair weather pond and he
would catch toads and fly off with them. Then a couple of times last
year we had a sand piper out there. I live way inland. One day we had
a sea gull. He would not leave and we tried to run him off, I think
he had neuro lyme. We have had barn swallows in the barn and can't
get them out.
Our neighbors raise swans and some other expensive birds and they are
so beautiful.
Are all birds bad news when it come to ticks? I was told gunieas would
eat ticks. People around here put up Purple Martin houses to kill
insects.
