....and Unit 543 (Hailar), and Unit 773 (Songo unit),
and Unit 100 (Changchun), and Unit 1644 (Nanjing),
and Unit 1855 (Beijing), and Unit 8604 (Guangzhou),
and Unit 9420 Singapore.

For those on this NG who may not know,
Unit 731 was a secret military medical unit
of the Imperial Japanese Army that researched biological warfare
and other topics through human experimentation
during the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) and World War II era.

Located by the Japanese in northeastern China, (conquered at the time)
it is estimated that over 3,000 Chinese, Korean, and Allied POWs
were killed in the Unit 731 facilities.
After these laboratories were destroyed by the Japanese
to hide their activities, many of the scientists involved
went on to prominent careers in politics, academia and business.

The United States granted amnesty, allowing these scientists
to go unprosecuted in exchange for their experimentation data.

Yep, many are aware of "Operation Paperclip" which allowed
many Nazi scientists entry into the U.S. along with being issued
a "Get-Out-Of-Nuremberg-Trial-Free-Card",
but, the extremely mad/insane/mind-bendingly evil Jap scientists'
use of HUMAN GUINEA PIGS to conduct their horrific experiments
is not so much in the public consciousness...

I know an 82-year old man living in my hometown, who has retreated
from society, friends and mainly his church, because he was in the
Pacific theatre during WWII and was in the Bataan Death March,
and was aware of the "Units" listed above, being a prisoner and all,
and he STILL can NOT forgive the Japanese for what they did to him
and his buddies. He HATES the Japanese with a passion!
He described the Japanese he encountered as the
most cruel human beings he could imagine...
and what eats him alive is what the U.S.Government allowed for these
brutal Japanese taskmasters- AMNESTY, IN-EXCHANGE For All
Their Research Papers On Human Experimentation-
for U.S. scientists to study.

Wonder how many of these American scientists researched
the Japs' prior human experiments while at Yale University...
and wonder how many Paperclip Nazis took up residence at Yale?
