Was this the first time you have taken a drug in the penicillin group?

As I understand it, an allergy can occur at any time.

I had one episode of hive-like marks, which after reading up on the
symptoms sounded a lot like serum sickness. It occurred at the third
week, which is also herx timing. So, it can be very hard to tell. I
stopped taking the drug and have not used it since. However, I have
used others in the same group without this reaction.

Seems to me that a rash could be attributed to multiple causes, while
hives leans more toward allergy. I have been told that a blood test
can show what is happening, something to do with lymphocyte numbers, I
think (don't hold me to this).
