I can understand that they might want to use OspA to characterize
relationships in strains/species, but why does it have any relevance to
testing. Isn't it true that OspA is downregulated in humans?
And another comment: the abstract which included Dattwyler had the
following passage, and I am wondering if this was, in fact, done in his
Prevue test.
"Specific and cross-reactive antigenic determinants need to be
considered in the design of improved immunodiagnostics for spirochetal
diseases."
It is my understranding that the Prevue test isn't any better, just
faster.
