Re: Antibiotic treatment of Lyme borreliosis: what is the evidence?

this is positively the most insane message board I've ever seen.

When you, or the Bag Lady are posting...yes. What do you find "insane"
about this, pray tell?

On another note, I often wonder if abx are effective at all, in any
stage, wrt completely eliminating the infection.

Uh, yeah, they are. I think there is general agreement across the board
on that one, there,
Princess.

It's interesting to
note that early infections which are treated have about a 20% rate of
continuing symptomology, similar to what is seen in early untreated LB
which is allowed to progress.

You sound like a "paid plant" from the Steere Camp. Nazi pig. Swine.

Sometimes I think the doxy stuff is
propaganda designed to assure the public that there is an easy and
effective treatment, when in fact there's not a damn thing you can do
once you're infected.

Oh, man...you are such an unabashed whore for the insurance
industry...the HMO-ho-hos.
Sell it on the streets, baby...cha-ching, cha-ching!

The natural course of untreated LB - an early
spirochetemic spike followed by a drastic reduction in spirochete
density once dissemination and tissue adaptation occur - and a genetic
susceptibility to late LB among 20% of the population - might explain
the human population dynamics of the disease, with or without useless
abx therapy.

And then again...maybe not.

This policy would also
explain the Bush administration's decision to legalize millions of
mexican aliens - mostly living in non-endemic areas - clearly they are
anticipating a population void numbering in the millions, which could
be made up for by putting millions of young, fertile hard working
mexicans on a track to US citizenship.

No...they are probably just wanting toi make sure the lawns get mowed
and the leaves raked up. Suburbia would look like crap without them.

Yuppies aren't going to go out there and do that...risk Lyme disease.
