Hey, "Stubby"...I am really what I would call a "conservative Dem"...or
what we used to call that...

....we are really sort of Republicans who grew up on a straight ticket
Daley machine thing and can't break old habits...but the goo-goos have
got hold of the Party now. (Is "goo-goo" just a Chicago expression? It
means "good-government" types).

I was actually involved in Chicago politics fairly substantially in the
mid-eighties.

But it seems my own party doesn't want me anymore...and I think Sam
Nunn figured that one out, too...

....can you help?
