Paget's disease

Hi, this has been on my mind for sometime now, and I wanted to ask you
all a few questions. I have read an article at Paget's disease. I was
reading about it on medical health care info
http://www.medical-health-care-information.com/encyclopedia/p/Paget%27s-Disease.asp
which says Paget's disease is a chronic condition that causes abnormal
bone growth. Normally, bone is constantly being broken down and
rebuilt. In the early stages of Paget's disease, bone is broken down
at an accelerated rate. To keep up with the rapid breakdown of bone,
the body speeds up the bone rebuilding process. Paget's disease
usually affects the bones in the pelvis, spine, thigh (femur), skull,
shin (tibia), and upper arm (humerus). The cause of Paget's disease is
unknown. Genetic factors and viruses may play a role in the
development of the disease.Genetics. In up to 40% of cases, other
family members also have Paget's disease. 1 If your parents, brothers,
or sisters have Paget's disease, you are 7 times more likely to
develop the disease than if you do not have a family history of the
disease. Paget's disease usually affects the bones in the pelvis,
spine, thigh (femur), skull, shin (tibia), and upper arm (humerus).
One bone (monostotic) or several bones (polyostotic) may be affected
by Paget's disease.
While it must be true, I wonder what you have to say about it. Do let
me know! Regards, Leena
