Really, Sewer, ..... until tthe medical establishment comes up with a
cure, these books are going to keep on cropping up faster than the
Washington Madam's customers-- and faster than a stalker can do a
"WHOIS."
If the Medical establishment could offer a cure for chronic Lyme, then
the whole debate would just go away, PERIOD. Why don't you guys
work harder on finding a cure and forget about stalking authors of
Lyme disease books who are entitled, in a free society, to their
opinions ?
A long time ago, my grandmother lay dying from infection after one
lung was taken out due to tumors. My grandfather, who was living in
Britain at the time, heard about a a guy named Alexander Fleming who
had a miracle discovery drug. He contacted Mr. Fleming personally,
and got some of the mystery drug, and my grandmother was healed in 2
days. The drug was a mold called penicillin. Had it not been for my
grandfather's willingness to try a new untried treatment, she would
not have survived the infection. The medical establishment of the
time told him that there was no hope. My grandparents went on to have
a wonderful life in the diplomatic service thanks to my grandfather's
wisdom and willingness to try a new treatment for his wife in a
desperate situation..
Adults can make up their own minds about which books they want to
purchase. We don't live in a police state...at least not yet.... and
journalists and patients are a part of this debate-- not just
microbiologists, bioweaponeers and insurance industry reps.
The medical establishment has offered nothing in the way of treatment
to thousands who can't be wrong about their continuing symptoms. In
short, they have lost the trust of a very large and growing group of
people. Why on earth would I claim a disease like this? I have no
desire to be a Lyme patient. What treatments do you have to offer
sick people for the chronic spirochete infection of the brain that you
admit may cause alzheimer's?
Dr. Marshall's protocol has not been peer reveiwed or systematically
studied, but it is based on a very interesting theory, and uses
common, preexisting drugs Many on Marshall's site claim major
progress in their conditions. For me, the jury is still out until the
science is done. I may try out Dr. Marshall's protocol at some point
in time if my condition worsens because I have nothing to lose ---
because IDSA has nothing to offer me in the way of treatments or even
any creativity regarding theories for treatments.
