what is ridiculous is that wormser's latest pronouncements, in may,
utilized primarily european studies...and seemed to ignore certain
crucial findings, for instance, that intrathecal antibodies are not
commonly found in american NB. Additionally, they claimed that there
was no evidence of intracellularity...conveniently ignoring several
studies which indicate otherwise.

These guys are just putting out propagandistic garbage...it looks
solid to most scientists and laypeople who aren't familiar with the
literature...but once you familiarize yourself, the holes appear. It's
frustrating. They say there is no evidence of survival after adequate
therapy, but that is a huge lie. Numerous papers and reports document
this fact. Even Klempner found time after his infamous 2001 study to
publish about an entity he called "treatment-resistant
neuroborreliosis" and made a distinction between that and "postlyme".

What is treatment-resistant neuroborreliosis? Why isn't this entity
being extensively studied? What is the meaning of last fall's cdc
study which demonstrated Bb sequestering inside CNS cells and later re-
emerging? Why are north american strains serum-resistant across a
broad spectrum of species, whereas european garinii and azfelii are
more specific and separated by serum resistance profiles?

They are strongarming science. There are individuals in this country
who have 'treatment-resistant' encephalopathy characterized by
extensive cerebral vasculitis . Who is studying them? {other than
fallon} These people deserve treatment, from doctors who actually are
familiar with and study their disease. neither Gary wormser nor his
coconspirators are among these doctors. His fallacious pronouncements
should carry zero weight wrt these patients.
