Did you see that (as well) in the movie Fight Club? I remember that
the main character explained that . I now know is real (I suspected
it but didn't put too much energy on that)
No.
I was actually thinking more of the famous example of this type of
cost-benefit analysis, what allegedly happened with the Ford Pinto:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Pinto
"Ford was aware of this design flaw but allegedly refused to pay what
was characterized as the minimal expense of a redesign. Instead, it
was argued, Ford decided it would be cheaper to pay off possible
lawsuits for resulting deaths.
Mother Jones magazine obtained the cost-benefit analysis that it said
Ford had used to compare the cost of an $11 repair against the cost of
paying off potential law suits, in what became known as the Ford Pinto
Memo.[1] While Ford was acquitted of criminal charges, it lost several
million dollars and gained a reputation for manufacturing "the
barbecue that seats four."
(If you follow the link, you can see the memo, if you are interested).
That settlement with the vaccine is in the line with the "victory"
over the IDSA through A.G B investigation.
LOL. We always "win" don't we? We "win" so damn much...I have
forgotten what losing looks like...and get the two confused. They are
starting to look exactly the same to me. LOL.
I find this part to be completely untruthful:
Stephen A. Sheller, a Philadelphia lawyer involved in the half dozen
class-action lawsuits filed in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania,
said
the case was never about "putting hundreds of millions of dollars" in
plaintiffs' pockets, it was about public safety.
"Our goal was to warn the public about the vaccine," Sheller said.
I think his clients will strongly disagree with him.-
The payout per client was $0.00. as I recall.
The entire settlement eaten by legal costs and fees.
