If the website opinion board is really a "front" for some other
purpose, I guess...then, yes.
I see! I see the connection now in this very hypothetical situation. I
started out going in a different direction, but I have come to
understand the error in my own thought process. Thanks!
So, in this (fictional) example, to which any likeness of any real
world situations or individuals are completely coincidental, those who
are part of the slactivist organization might not even realize their
role in astroturfing for the larger, professional organization.
Some of them, even some of the main players, might delude themselves
into thinking they are doing what they do for the right reasons,
albeit it lazy reasons possibly, if they weren’t privy to the true
role they were playing?
It could then be, (theoretically speaking, of course) that some
actions of the individuals from the slactivist organization that are
involved with, say, a (fictional) message board that acts as a front
for a referral tool for the (fictitious) larger organization, are
simply driven by pure ignorance?
Are you SURE this doesn’t cause some sort of tear in the universe like
that ‘easy button’ commercial where they use the easy button to find
the easy button?
