Of course, this is a global world... The only difference is that we can no
GMO, yet.
But people on average eat less of these. I saw figures showing that the
average trans fat consumption for an American is around 20g. It's around 2g
in France, including what we get from butter (whose trans fats seem way less
harmfull). That's an average, so individual figures can vary a lot.
There are also several people who are sensibilizing the opinion about junk
food, like Coffe or Beauvais, and they tend heard more and more into the
mainstream.

We do, though it's different from the USA and less informative. We get
pretty raw information, we don't have stuff like %daily needs or maximum
daily intake. The government figured that these informations varied from
people to people and let you do the math for yourself. Vitamins and the like
are often not listen, because listing them is banned on junk food (to avoid
junk food+added vitamins mimicking healthy food). Sodium content is often
not listed, but this is improving. Some foods do not list these data when
content is obvious (i.e., olive oil).
The ingredient list itself is compulsory and legally enforced, same with GMO
content (since they are legal now it seems - never saw any at the
supermarket though).
Of course, we only get these on packaged food. I only have this kind of
information on maybe 1/3 of the food I buy. The rest is plain meat or
vegetables I buy from the grocer, no information on them, because of no
package...
