Good point, reflection or self reflection can be very difficult for a
lot of people. Imagination and daydreaming are a healthy part of
growing up. I remember reading that people burn less calories
watching TV than doing nothing at all. I remember a philsopher saying
"the unexamined life is not worth living", well we have a lot of
those.
I remember many of those nothing to do moments growing up which
involved simply sitting inside a tractor tire. Sometimes there was
even someone in the tire next to mine.
