condition after trials in the U.S. showed half of test patients were back to
health after just one year of taking the drug.
Dr Miles Parkes, of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's
disease. More than half of patients stayed well at the end of a year and it
was well tolerated, with no significant side effects.' The drug works by
blocking white cells moving into the gut where they trigger inflammation, he
said.
