"I would strive to get at least 250 mg of vitamin C from natural
sources and 25 mcgs of vitamin D mostly from supplements in the
wintertime."
I'm aware of the arguments for up to 2 g/day of C, but is there any
national or international authority that has put their name on an RDI
above 90 mg/day? And, I'm curious about your recommendation for D -
the 10 ug/day I quote is already double that for younger people. I
realise that Finland at 70 degrees latitude gets a lot less sun than
Ottawa at 45 (especially in winter!) and I do spend a lot of time
outdoors (see http://sankey.ws/naturalist.html), but again is there
any 'authority' who backs 25 ug?
.
