COMMENT:

You haven't been following the thread. Cardiovascular disease is common
in diabetics--- it's their major source of mortality. To the extent
that obesity and diabetes are rampant in the South, there is no "Indian
paradox." It's not a paradox that vegetarians get diabetes when they
load up on butter-- it's perfectly possible. Heart disease was the fate
of many a diabetic on the Joslin high-fat low-carb diebetic diet of 50
years ago. Okay?

If you could fix diabetes and its associated heart disease risk by
simply giving up meat, many people would do it, because giving up meat
and going ovo-lacto, is relatively easy. It's going vegan that's hard.
