The beneficial effects of fish consumption to cognitive functions cannot be
accounted to long chain omega-3 fatty acids only. In addition to fatty acids
fish contains important phospholipids, like phosphatidylserine, which has
been shown to decrease cognitive decline. Bovine brain is highest natural
source of phosphatidylserine, but it might not be a safe source nowadays.
Best safe source is mackerel:
