Re: Does calcium citrate reduce stomach acid?

Both tums and rolaids contain calcium carbonate also as their main
content. Calcium is made in the body as a part of digestion to neutralize
stomach in the gut. Calciumcitrate is an ester of calcium and citric
acid,ie. vit c, because it is said to promote absorption. Taken in
similar amounts they will all have similar neutralizing effect.
