IIRC, there was a study that gave sugar sweetened sodas to one group
and artificially sweetened sodas to another group and compared weight
gains. The hypothesis was that the people with the sugared sodas would
consume less of the other foods.
The results were that the group with the sugared sodas put on more
weight.
