Is magnesium citrate, sold in drug stores in the form of a
carbonated liquid for the relief of constipation, a good product
for supplementing one's dietary intake of magnesium?

Magnesium oxide is the preferred form for constipation. (note it is
less well absorbed, and remains in the bowel retaining moisture)
Magnesium citrate is better absorbed for othe r metabolic purposes,
and is more expensive.
