Which they may.

ALL the benefits of ALL the treatments? I doubt it, but no one knows for
sure.

But I think it's becoming clear that the low-fat (and therefore high carb)
dogma of the past are being undermined by new data in the form of randomized
controlled trials.

The resistance to using carb control instead of grains, sugar and drugs
to control lipids is backed by powerful lobbies, however.

Well, the fact is that without a worldwide high carb diet, there would be
mass starvation. Grains are the miracle that has enabled the human
population to keep on growing beyond numbers thought impossible just a few
decades ago. We even have excess capacity. So I think it's more than a
"lobby." We evolved on low GI and low carb and have become dependent upon
technology and agriculture to feed us.

Sure, lots of us can do low carb and be healthier for it. But the world as a
whole can't.
