oh man! what an intense website... Thanks Juhana.
I'd really like to thank you fine people on this newsgroup for setting
me straight on my nutrition restructuring program. I've decided to
simply solve approx. ( using http://www.nutritiondata.com/ ) how many
nutritional elements (vit and min) certain foods have, eat accordingly
and not take vitamins for now. Through the use of vitamins, I was
looking for amazing changes in my body and I think I can just get them
by having a better diet and let my body grab the nutrients it needs
like it's been doing for 41 years :-).
I don't mean to gross you guys out but this was my diet in a typical
working day for about the past three to four years.
BREAKFAST: breakfast burrito w/ extra mayo and a jelly filled donut,
and a tall coffee.
coffe, coffee, coffee
LUNCH: Carl's junior, Buger King or out to lunch with friends from
work. We'd go to a pizza place down the street where it was normal for
me to eat five slices of pizza and a beer. coffe, coffee, coffee, coke,
coffee, coke, Snickers, Coke...
DINNER: Would look like lunch, only bigger.
Coke, Ice cream, cookies (my wife makes intense c.chip cookies). When I
had a *healthy* fish burrito, it was usually fried wrapped in tartar
sauce or mayonaisse.
This went on for a long time. I was starting to feel sick, aches,
pains... Then my doctor diagnosed me as hypothyroid and rapidly on my
way to diabetes II. She said that it was not too late if I changed my
habbits now! I don't know if it was a scare tactic or not but it
didn't matter. I was a 24 Hour Fitness member two hours after I left
her office, went home and had an apple. I don't think I'd had an apple
in years. Literally grabbed the new twelve pack of cokes in threw them
away. That was three months ago. I've lost about 20 pounds since and
my clothes fit again. I'll never do that this to my body again--ever!
Still got a long way to go but I'm on my way. my water intake has
increased by 150% and if I still need that sudsy feeling that I got
from soft drinks, I buy a Perrier.
thanks again, everyone.
