Re: What about this "lemonade" diet?

Oh, perhaps you have a point.

Maybe I was thinking of 'lemon' coke ?

Plus I heard you need to swallow it as fast as possible, this is vital
so the essential nutrients do not get absorbed in the fleshy mouth
glands.

Hmm, thinking about it, didn't Coca-Cola have acidic properties which
can dissolve alkaline solids?

Have you ever vomited on a car? The vomitus will disolve the paint. Yet,
acid is a normal part of our stomach physiology.

A stomach lining, thickened with calcite deposits due to large intakes
of trans-enzymed
meats could be dissolved with a regular intake of 'classic' Coke.

Actually, this is a total stupid statement. The pH of the stomach is
normally lower than the pH of Coke. And the pH of coke comes both from
carbon dioxide (which forms carbonic acid when dissoved in water) and
phosphoric acid, with is excreted by the kidneys. Calcite deposits don't
form in the stomach.

This is in theory, but the science fits!

No, it doesn't.

At first glance it seems like just another kooky fad "diet", but after
a
bit of googling on this I'm starting to think, perhaps a good
fast/cleanse once in a while might not hurt a guy/gal?

I don't dispute the argument that "toxins" can build up in the body,
especially with all the processed foods consumed these days, but will
this really "cleanse" a body? , or is all the "discharge" from this
routine just your body reacting to such a radical and possibly
unhealthy
change?

I guess what I am getting at, is there ANY scientific backing for this
"cleansing" procedure??

This seems to the the group to ask...

Just because American Doctors aren't taught in "funded medical schools"
about cleansing or fasting doesn't make it dissproven.

Absolutely correct. There is no evidence that supports that this works.
If I
am incorrect, please point me to solid science that supports the use of
this
stuff.

Not only are
there doctors in this country that do recommend it, the rest of the
world has been doing it for thousands of years.

For thousands of years, doctors in the rest of the world used to bleed
people to help them get over illness. Just because people have been doing
it
for thousands of years doesn't make it good.

The greates spiritual
leaders, Ghandi, Jesus, Mohammad, etc all believed and taught fasting.

For religious reasons, not medical ones.

If you get into reading about alternative healing you will find there
are doctors and healing centers that use fasting. There are also books
written by doctors who have fasted 1000s of patients and wrote of the
curative properties.

Yet there is no scientific evidence that backs their claims.

Does it not make sense that sometimes the digestive track needs a rest.

It gets one every night.

Why would the digestive tract need a rest, unless there is a specific
problem, like divertiulosis or intestinal infection?

And that maybe while these organs are resting they can catch up on
cleaning house?

I hate to tell you this, but cleaning house is not resting.

Do a little research on the Master Cleanser and I
think you will realize that it does a lot of positive things.

Yeah, it enriches the bank accounts of some people.

Read the
reviews on amazon, read the newsgoups/ chat boards, etc.

How about reading the scientific evidence that backs your claims? Where
would we find it?

And for those who claim defficiency, lemons are one of the most
nutrient and vitamin dense foods. Add the minerals from the Maple
Syrup you will easily be able to function.

Especially because you have stores of fat.

And the last thing that
comes to my mind for a cleansing program is to gum up the body with
heavy and mucous forming hard to digest foods such as meat and cheese.

Irrelevant. You have not provided any evidence that a cleansing program
is
healthy.
