Squash?



I have a faint recollection of a post here some time ago where a side
comment was critical(?) of squash.

It was not the food being discussed, but the comment went something like
"..... is almost as bad as squash."

As I eat squash quite regularly, I am interested in what there is about it
that prompted the comment. (My interest is in *winter squash, NOT the
'summer' squash which seems to me to hardly qualify for the name. My
favorite, by the way, is 'buttercup' squash.

All *science based* comments and information appreciated, as always.
