I don't know what you mean by "Two Dogs."

Must be an Australian joke. Just a funny way of asking why someone is
asking. See: http://www.yikers.com/funny_joke_two_dogs.html

The argument, which I find persuasive, is that we evolved eating whole
foods. We ate pretty much whatever we could get. When we managed to kill an
animal, I suspect we ate the whole thing with almost nothing wasted.

Not only did we eat the whole food, but we proabably ate most of it at once
rather than as separate components (sorta like eating whole kernel grain and
not reconstituted whole grain flour or endosperm, germ, and bran separately.
We now know that at least with some foods, it makes a difference.

So I asked, since you seemed to be pro whole food. I just wondered how far
you carried it.

Well as pragmatically as I can. There are some foods that grinding and
baking are the only way to make them edible, and of course, there are
foods that must be soaked in water for prolonged periods, or boiled
before they can be safely eaten. These days I "refine" the muscle from
meat discarding the fat and bone, although I often crunch soft bones.
(only coz I like them, and not for some ideology)

I just have this feeling about energy density of foods, and how it
might be helpful to have a density number from 0 to 10 displayed
boldly on packaging. I got this "aha" from someone a few weeks ago
mentioning the low density of the Okinawan diet of the past which
possibly helped the Okinawans live such healthy lives.
It really seems that the modern western disease is just too much
energy. jack
