The "meta-analysis"? I've looked at all of these studies, and this is
either a lie or a misunderstanding borne of ignorance and a belief in
dogma. If "saturated fat" was so bad, it would be obvious, since
millions of Asians have used coconut oil
as their main fat source for generations (though not as much lately,
due to "modernization"). The WHO statistics demonstrate this
clearly. Rather, it is that MUFAs are, in general, less dangerous
than PUFAs, and so the claim that MUFAs are "heart healthy" (in the
case of erucic acid, however, nothing could be further from the
truth). To argue that "saturated fat is bad," lard is used, which is
only about 40% saturated and so should not be classified as a
"saturated fat," or they use coconut oil and look for "markers" rather
than seeing how long the people or animals actually live.
