A news article today. There are now more strict rules for producers and
marketers of supplement industry products. They must confirm the purity
and proper manufacture of their products and that what it says on the
label is exactly and no more or less then what is in the container.
The factories and distribution facilities can now be inspected to
confirm practices and it will be easier to report problems arising from
the use of the products. Unlike aspirin they will not have to show they
are safe or effective as to their claims.
FThese long overdue changes go a long way to making better more informed
consumers of these products. At least they can have some comfort
knowing they were produced in clean factories and contain pure contents
and the labels now mean what they say is contained in the package is
accurate.
