Re: Omega 3 Research on Anti-Blindness: Reported in "Sham vs. Wham: The Health Insider"

It is a common misperception that omega 3's are anti-inflammatory, these
fats are only so in the context of an o3-o6imbalance. I have seen studies
demonstrating that o3's do have an inflammatory component. My view is to
focus on monounsaturates. I remember reading in some nonsense text (Zone
diet I think) wherein the author found a natural compound to inhibit AA.
Some of this friends (not a proper trial!) became very sick and angry with
him. Well der, you need AA for normal brain function(essential for glutamate
transmission).

Fish oil is very dangerous. Why is it being recommended by doctors
and nutritionists? Most don't know much about biochemistry. My
doctor didn't even understand I basic point about salt I tried to talk
to him about a few years back. On my free site, I have an entire
essay in which I present some clear evidence against taking fish oil,
but there is much more. Basically, fish oil inhibits the
metabolization of arachidonic acid, and so in the short term, appears
"beneficial." The long-term damage it does, assuming you take it in
the large amounts being recommended by many "experts,"' can be
extreme. All you need to do is to avoid any food that contains more
than very small amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids, as I do now.
