An important point to add is that they compared HSO to coconut oil,
but it's crucial to also compare HSO to the typical PUFA-rich, highly
refined (but not hydrogenated) oil that is being consumed in huge
amounts in nations like the USA today. My guess is that the results
would be similar, and this would support my argument that
hydrogenation is not the problem, in the context of the typical oils
being consumed these days, but rather the large percentage of UFAs and
the refining process (that strips the naturally-occurring antioxidants
out of the oils, though some would likely still be very unhealthy,
even if not highly refined).
