For everyone:
Get yourself some very old textbooks and look at what they were
eating. "Pound cake" was made with a pound of butter and a pound of
sugar, for example. I witnessed my great grandparents live to be 96
and 100, and they ate no oily fish (hardly ever ate fish), nor any
other source of omega 3s (other than the tiniest of trace amounts).
The ate eggs, plenty of dairy, only small portions of meat, canned and
fresh fruit and vegetables, and more than their share of cookies and
dessert items (no fiber - they used prune juice to avoid
constipation). They did not use any highly unsaturated oil, other
than high-quality olive oil. Also, do a google search for Amish diet,
and you will come across pages such as the following:
