I should quit right .. here.
There are no long chain omega-3 in plants. There are long chain
omega-3 in animals and fish products.
Therefore .. ? .. omega-3 and omega-3 are **not** .. the "same" ..
Long chain and short chain omega-3.

That's irrelevant here, we were discussing the "antioxidant/
prooxidant" properties of Omega-3 for which only the distance from the
chain end and the total number of double bonds matter.

Yes, the long chain Omega-3 is more harmful in respect to derailing
and inhibiting the immune system - makes you bleed, not to heal
properly and lowers the Th1/Th2 ratio giving you allergies. In this
respect, you are right that the plant version is safer but it gives
you the same lipid peroxide damage ...

The human gut does produce CLA .

So compared to the gut of a cow .. yes .. the human can produce CLA .

As to QUANTITY of CLA .. then one might have to consume plants for a
while to find that out.

I bet you get far more CLA from a spring grass fed cow butter than
from the fermentation in your vegetarian gut.
