AOL Health claims that eggs are good for you. They say, "The yolk
contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which are crucial for eye health. Egg
yolks are also an important source of phosphatidylcholine, a nutrient
that boosts brain health. Worried about your cholesterol levels?
Consider this: Half the fat in the yolk isn't even saturated."

However, Diabetes Australia cites an American study that shows that
eating an egg everyday may increase the risk of type 2 diabetes by
about 60 per cent.

It could be the case that eggs are both good and bad for you. It is
similar to red wine. The antioxidants in grape skins in wine may be
good for your heart but too much alcohol can increase the risk of oral
cancers e.g. mouth cancer risk increases 75% for a person who drinks
two standard alcoholic drinks per day (20g of alcohol per day). If you
are eating or drinking a food or drink that is both good and bad for
you, it is better to switch to something that purely good. E.g. switch
from drinking wine to eating grapes and apples. Grapes and apples have
all the antioxidants red wine does but none of the alcohol.
Likewise, if I wanted to switch from egg, what other food that isn't
associated with diabetes risk can I eat that contains the nutrients
egg has, ie. lutein, zeaxanthin, etc?
