Re: Milk drinking started around 7,500 years ago in central Europe

The concensus in the scientific community is that the cause for type 1
diabetes is unknown. =A0

"Some studies have shown that high intake of vitamin D reduces the
occurrence of type 1 diabetes in children."

But this still does not pinpoint "cause". In a given population of the
same vit. d intake only a fraction would develope the disease. So this
is just another factor, likely secondary, in the reason for it as an
immune reaction.

There is an interesting correlation your point highlightes.

When our anti-milk friend was spinning his propaganda he used a chart
that showed level of diabetes related to country by milk intake. What
one sees also is a correlation with latitude,ex. finland highest in both
senses. Some have speculated on the vit. d connection which
availability varies with latitude and production by exposure to
sunlight.

So either vit. d and/or milk use are both likely only indirect
correlations to the disease. One could on the basis of raw correlation
alone say that level of vit. d causes milk use from the same chart.
