    Wondering if anyone has any comments about this for drainage of fluid
    and possible treatment for calcification of the prostate? If so what
    sort of practioner would do this?

    hi david - nothing can be done for the
    calcification inside the prostate. these are known as prostate stones
    and are common in men as they age. in fact, 80% of men have prostate
    stones by the time they are 60. they show up as white spots on the
    ultra-sound of the prostate.

    your enlarged prostate could be pushing into your bladder forming a ring
    into the bottom. this causes the urine to pool inside the ring and is
    held back. ever notice that after you are done, that if you bend over
    or do some activity within a minute, you can pee some more and it is a
    lot more than usual. this is that pool of urine spilling out of that
    ring. have them do an ultra-sound for this. it's painless.

    you are laid down on a table and an ultra sound is given to see how much
    fluid you have. then you go to the bathroom and empty as much as you
    possibly can. you then go back to the table and they do the ultra sound
    again. this is how i found out that i had this condition. they can
    tell you exactly how much cc of urine you are holding back each time.
    of course, this condition causes the bladder to fill up quicker, which
    could be one of the symptoms you are describing.
