Dave,
I think you have Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome but the question is "Do you
have Prostatitis?" I don't believe it is at all certain that you have an
inflamed prostate but you may very well have inflamation in the area of the
prostate. I too was diagnosed with prostatitis about 30 years ago and mine
was clearly bacterial as evidenced by cultures. Mine responds to antibiotics
but alas, it does not last. It always comes back. I do not experience the
pain that you seem to suffer between bouts. I do not believe that mine is
sensitive to things like spices, caffeine, alcohol, etc. I have tried a lot
of things also and the therapy that works best for me is massage combined
with antibiotics. After a one month therapy session, I feel virtually normal
for an extended period. I can usually tell when a new bout is coming on as
urination frequency will start to increase. This occurs about twice a year.
You take antibiotics also but they probably are only providing inflamatory
relief and not antibacterial relief. I hope you find a better therapy.
