Snipped at a random spot because there was so much in it, you get the idea
in what I quoted and there was no need to quote as much...or probably as
much as I did.
The truth about CP? The prostate is a VERY good filter but not perfect. Once
you get CP you can have the prostate removed if you want (which I don't
want) or you can live with it. The pain IS a pain (pardon the unintended
pun) but the fact is that nothing to date, short of ripping it out which
isn't something you want to do, can cure it and we face constant ideas from
people who mean well (such as you), some of which help to an extent. We also
face (not you) quacks that come in here and try to peddle bull***.
The TRUTH about CP is that you CAN live with it, that eventually someone
WILL find a cure that doesn't involve surgery and that right now it doesn't
exist.
So, do what you can do to relieve the pain and in the meantime keep watching
everything for news about new stuff. When the new stuff comes up, check it
out but don't be the first to try it.
Me? A lot of Saw Palmetto, the need to sit in a chair that isn't hard based
(your average camping chair qualifies there), pain relief as little as I can
get away with, not too much walking but a hell of a lot of moving around
getting up from prone position to standing (my job entails me crawling into
tiny spaces) and just getting on with it. I have tried massive amounts of
antibiotics and occasionally (roughly every 18 months) have to go back on
them for about 6 weeks. The massive antibiotics ultimately don't help but
taken sparingly can help a bad situation get somewhat better.
That's my way of dealing with it. Eg, there's no use having a whinge when
today's medical science cant honestly help short of cutting it right out
which isn't on for me. Should I get cancer, I die with the prostate and yes
that is probably stupid but that's my plan anyway.
