HI... I'm a Canadian and plan to go to North Dakota for a urologist to do an ultrasound and biopsy on the prostate. The wait time in Canada is 2 months, ridiculous ! I just need the findings, treatment will be done back in Canada. Someone suggested about $2500 US , does this sound in the range?.

Checking posts from a couple of years ago, the $1000 range sounds more reasonable.

However, you should be aware that prostate cancer is extremely slow growing. It doubles on average every 495 days for high Gleason score cancers, and on average every 577 days for low Gleason score cancers.

Of course, cancer is a scary sounding word, but for prostate cancer, the best thing you can do is to educate yourself. There are many options available, with differing degrees of success and differing severity of side effects. It will probably take you more than two months to fully understand what all of your options are. There are web sites dedicated to prostate cancer, books dedicated to prostate cancer, and the newsgroup alt.support.cancer.prostate. All of these sources have an enormous amount of information which takes time to digest.
