Pollution?!? And how, pray tell, does cremating an animal produce
pollution, but cremating a human produce none? This just goes to prove that
none of these laws are related to anything but politics.
This must just be a local law in your area, though, or perhaps one relating
to farm animals only, since I find this in a local Arkansas paper, and it
actually says cremation is _required_ for cats and dogs:
